PAKS: Pet Abandonment Kits for Survival

For my senior capstone project, I created a nonprofit organization called PAKS, or Pet Abandonment Kits for Survival. These PAKS would be distributed directly to rescue teams during times of a natural disaster. They are used to assist abandoned dogs and bring them to safety. Each PAK contains crucial items to help the dog become rescued, fed, and comforted. All photography for this project was done by me.

Duration: 2 months

Logo

The logo features the silhouettes of three different breeds of dogs. This creates a double meaning with the inclusion of all breeds and also a play on words with “packs” of dogs. The font has breaks of negative space in its lettering, paralleling to the negative space in the ears and paws of the dogs. I made a stacked and a horizontal logo for this organization.

The PAKS

Each PAK contains food, water, treats, collapsible bowls, a dog first aid kit, a toy, a leash, a bandana, a small blanket, a rag, and animal handling gloves. The logo was placed on the materials with either the use of silk-screen printing, iron-on, or stickers.

Posters

This is a collection of posters that show the PAKS in action. I chose to make the images black and white to express the seriousness of the situation, and then having a pop of red to symbolize alertness.

Website

The primary functions of the PAKS website is to inform the viewer what PAKS is and also to allow the viewer to donate and help fund for the PAKS. This image shows the final design on top and the wireframes below.
